The best strategy to reduce poverty is to build prosperity: President

Panama City.– The best strategy to reduce poverty and inequality is building prosperity and welfare for our people, Dominican President Danilo Medina said Friday.

Medina, who is attending the 7th Summit of the Americas taking place in Panama, spoke about the great opportunities that productive integration offers our region and insisted that we should bet on it as a common development strategy and as an effective way to reduce insecurity, drug trafficking and other ills that affect us.

The Dominican head of state pointed out that the United States can play an important role in this strategy, which would be the equivalent of China in Asia, and assume regional leadership because the best immigration policy, security, fighting corruption and other ills, can be translated into social welfare.
