Santo Domingo Cable Car advances, future users upbeat

Santo Domingo.- Construction of the stations forSanto Domingo’s Cable Car has advanced such that some of the platforms for thecabins of passenger transport system are already roofed.

The construction of the tunnel that links thecable system with the subway station in the Gualey sector also advances.

And despite delays from the downpours in the worksduring the last days, inhabitants seem upbeat with the project carried out bythe multiagency Unidad Ejecutora de la Readecuación de La Barquita.

The system, that will feature four stations and36 cable towers for the cabs, will benefit some 287,400 commuters.

Mum’s the word

Outlet eldia.com.do spoke with site engineer AbrahamNunez, who declined to provide details on the project´s expected conclusion. "Weare not allowed to speak, locate Jahel Issa who can confirm the date."

Issa however, didn’t answer phone callseither.
