Santiago’s Aguilas take Dominican Republic Baseball opener

One of the home run

Santo Domingo.- In a near rematch of last year’s championship series between eternal rivals, the Aguilas of Santiago this time trounced the Tigres of Santo Domingo 9 to 3, in the Winter Baseball season’s  inaugural game.

The Aguilas, who lost the final game of last season’s best-of-nine series, rallied for four runs in the eighth, with Ronny Rodriguez leading the charge batting 4 for 6, scored three runs and teammate Jung Ho Kang batted-in three.

The Tigres’ poor defense with three errors and spotty pitching sealed their fate in the game played at Quisqueya stadium.
