Santo Domingo.- Industry and Commerce minister Nelson Toca Simó on Tue. said expectations over Dominican Republic’s economy are growing, with exports expected to exceed US$10.0 billion this year.
He said 2016 exports were US$8.8 billion and US$9.9 in 2017. “We are now on the verge of breaking a historical barrier of more than 10 billion in exports”.
Toca said the government looks to exempt the micro, small and medium-sized Dominican companies from paying the Income Tax in Advance.
“We’re in a continuous conversation with Internal Taxes, which is willing to finally keep the MSMEs out of what’s called the Advance,” the official said, interviewed by Christian Jiménez and Geomar García on Digital 15.
