Dominican Navy welcomes Taiwan Naval Squadron

Santo Domingo.- Dominican authorities on Thursday welcomed the 2018 Friendship Squadron of Taiwan’s Naval Academy of.

It’s three ships with 800 sailors include officers, crew and cadets.

Taiwan ambassador, Valentino Tang, along with Dominican Navy commander Felix E. Cedeño headed the reception at Don Diego Port, Sansouci.

The ships’ visit is part of a research tour, military drills and the exchange of experiences with the Dominican Navy.

It will also present two activities open to the public.

The squadron left Taiwan at the beginning of March, and has visited the Marshall Islands, El Salvador and Nicaragua since.

After its visit to the Dominican Republic the squadron will continue onto Honduras and Guatemala.
