Glitch halts subway service at downtown stations
Santo Domingo.- Technical failures shut down a section of the Santo Domingo Metro’s 2nd line for around 45 minutes Wednesday morning, at the central Juan Pablo Duarte station.
Passengers stranded at the station griped that the authorities failed to notify the interruption, but normal service has been restored.
In a phone call to ZolFM 101 radio Metro Office (Opret) deputy director Leonel Carrasco blamed the glitch on an overheated sensor, affecting “just a few” central stations. "The service was restored. They are very sophisticated devices that need to be at a stable temperature, but they are not infallible."
