Dominican leader´s visit to Haiti raises concern of repeat attack

Santo Domingo.- NationalInvestigations Dept. (DNI) director Sigfrido Pared on Thursday assured that ifpresident Danilo Medina decides to travel to Haiti as emerged Wednesday, State securityagencies will do what´s necessary toensure their safety.
The official´scomment comes just one day after Medina met with Haiti counterpart MichelMartelly in Barahona (west), where Dominican Foreign minister Andres Navarroannounced the visit in the coming days after a meeting of the two leaders.
The announcement alsoraises concern of a repeat of an attack by a throng of enraged Haitians against the motorcade ofpresident Leonel Fernández during his official visit to Port-au-Prince in December2005.
