‘Criminal structures’ which evict without warrants will be prosecuted

National District prosecutor Yeni Berenice Reynoso

Santo Domingo.- The National District Office of the Prosecutor on Wed. said it receives complaints and calls for help daily from companies and citizens who request the intervention of the of the authorities because they are objects of evictions without warrants, and warned that it will prosecute the “criminal structures” that cause a permanent chaos in said executions.

It said there are cases in which there’s a favorable ruling but aren’t enforceable because their execution wasn’t specified or hadn’t reached the authority of an irrevocable sentence.

“There are also proceedings in which having an eviction enforcement, bailiffs and notaries are accompanied by gangs that cause damage, destroy property, abuse, extortion and theft of belongings that do not appear in the records and abscond with  them,” the entity said in press release.

It adds that another of the “fraudulent actions carried out by these criminal structures” is that they carry out evictions in an address that has no connection with the alleged debtor.
