U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expresses solidarity after Jet Set nightclub tragedy

Washington.- U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed solidarity with the Dominican Republic this Wednesday after the collapse of the Jet Set nightclub roof in Santo Domingo, a disaster that has left at least 124 people dead, including a U.S. citizen.

“We stand in solidarity with the families and loved ones affected by this devastating event,” Rubio said in a social media post. He added that he and his wife, Jeanette, are “united in prayer” with the Dominican people during this time of mourning. Rubio, who visited the Dominican capital in February, confirmed that the victims include U.S. citizens and legal residents.
