Alcohol importers advocate for responsible consumption over Holy Week

Santo Domingo.- The Representatives and Importers of Associated Wines and Spirits (RIVLAS), in line with their social responsibility efforts, aim to foster improved practices to highlight the dangers of excessive alcohol intake during the Holy Week holidays.

This initiative underscores the organization’s dedication to eliminating health hazards stemming from illicit alcohol consumption. Furthermore, they stress the importance of ensuring proper identification through bottle seals and labels.

RIVLAS warned about the risks of driving any type of vehicle while consuming alcoholic beverages and urged absolute abstinence for minors and pregnant women. Additionally, they emphasized the importance of consumers conducting a thorough inspection of bottles to avoid consuming adulterated alcoholic beverages or products of illicit trade.

“We recommend that users confirm that the product is in perfect condition, with a security ring, without alterations, and that it complies with the proper information of the sanitary registry and the warning of General Health Law 42-01,” they indicated.

The entity launched an awareness campaign urging the population to celebrate with moderation, know their limits, avoid driving if they have consumed alcohol, and call for zero tolerance for alcohol consumption in children and pregnant women.
