Salcedo carnival tragedy: death toll reaches 10

Santo Domingo.- Last Friday, the Robert Reid Cabral Hospital confirmed the passing of Edwin de Jesús Arias, aged 16, marking the final victim of the burns sustained during the Salcedo Carnival celebration. With his death, the toll from the incident has tragically risen to ten.

The incident stemmed from the mishandling of fireworks near the exit of the cave of the Los Toros group, resulting in several individuals suffering severe burns. The victims, some of whom were wearing costumes made of flammable materials, were engulfed in flames, leading to the grave injuries and subsequent fatalities.
