Deployment of Police forces for Election security
Santo Domingo.- This Thursday morning, approximately 19,800 police officers were deployed to strategic locations to bolster security measures for the upcoming Ordinary Presidential and Congressional General Elections, slated for Sunday, May 19 of this year.
The deployment was overseen by Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, the Director General of the National Police. He handed over command of the personnel to Major General Juan José Otaño Jiménez, head of the Electoral Military Police and a high-ranking official of the Dominican Republic Army (ERD).
At the official ceremony, held at the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, security protocols, procedures, and conditions were thoroughly reviewed to ensure the transparency and effectiveness of actions by military and police personnel participating in the electoral process on May 19.
Joining Major Generals Guzmán Peralta and Otaño Jiménez were Generals Andrés Cruz Cruz, the Police Inspector General, and Esteban Figuereo García, Central Director of Human Resources, along with other senior officers comprising the high command of the law enforcement institution.
Watch your wallets.
Hope the peace can be kept. Elections can bring out the worst behavior in political fanatics.
It is strange there has been no mention of liquor sales being prohibited on election day.
Most of all… do “VOTE”.
Late in the day on Friday the liquor sales prohibition was announced, affording little time for the public to legally buy before the beginning of the ban on Saturday.
Making sure Abinader wins. Only in the Dominican republic. Rampant corruption illegal immigration and high crime. And the people continue to vote for this crap.
