Concerns over Dominican aid to Haiti

Santo Domingo.- Wilson Gómez Ramírez, President of the Duartiano Institute, cautioned Dominican authorities against compromising national sovereignty while providing humanitarian aid to Haiti. His remarks followed statements by Dominican Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez at the United Nations regarding the offer of medical assistance to the mediation mission in Haiti amid ongoing turmoil.

How can providing humanitarian aid compromise national security ? When you look at the list of countries including Caribbean countries sending troops, the Dominican Republic is not on that list. This has been noticed by the international community. What we do not read about is that the Dominican Republic enjoys a trade surplus with Haiti for a number of years of approx. $900 million. Over the years, the international community has contributed multi- millions dollars to help the Dom Rep. Now is the time to return some of this generosity to Haiti. The foreign tourists expect this.

It’s unfortunate you don’t see the big picture. The USA Canada and European Union goal is to unify the island. For them there is no difference between a Dominican and a haitian.

Listen you obvioulsly don’t know our history Ok.? No other country has carried our burden as us.
Hatiens, has intelectualized that DR belongs to them, tha wet stole their country from just because we have mange ours and they have not theirs, they want to live here to destroy it as they did theirs.

You must live in your own bubble far away, so don’t talk about this, because you have not lived next to them, nor experience, what we have.

Futher more, who has been helping all these years, they take from us and what have they give us? They work in DR and they get paid they will never be Dominicans, like foreigners will never be Americans. Every Country has laws and they must be respected or else OUT!
