Dominican Republic again leads in transport infrastructure

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic again occupied the number one position in transport infrastructure, in the area that includes Central America, according to the Global Competitiveness Report 2019 of the World Economic Forum.

In transport infrastructure, the Dominican Republic (37/141) stands out as the best qualified, improving 12 positions compared to the previous report.

“Within this component, the connectivity (75/141) and quality (40/141) of the road network stand out. Specifically in road quality, the country improved 13 positions compared to the 2018 evaluation.”

The report is based on a comparison of 141 economies worldwide with respect to the main pillars that support their positioning for the generation of economic development and the attraction of investments.
