Foreign resident cédula renewal grace period expires

Santo Domingo.- The CentralElectoral Board (JCE) informs that tomorrow is the expiry date for the graceperiod granted by the Board for all foreign residents in the country to renewtheir identity cards (cédulas) at a reduced fee ranging between RD$500 andRD$3,000, depending on the length of the expiry period.

The JCE pointed out that this feedoes not include payment for the plastic for the document.

The JCE Foreign Affairs Departmentwill be working until 4pm tomorrow, Saturday 29th December 2012.

The grace period was approved bymeans of Act 36/2012, valid from July to December 29th 2012.
