PLD to start a new era with congress opening

Santo Domingo.– The Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) begins a new era Sunday with its Eighth Ordinary Congress "Comandante Norge Botello", which is expected to produce significant changes in that political organization, as has happened in similar events.

The organizing committee, chaired by Cesar Pina Toribio, reported yesterday that the congress will discuss 15 key issues and more than 20,000 proposals.

According to Pina, the congress will formally open at 10:00 am at the Volleyball Pavillion in the Juan Pablo Duarte Olympic Center, and it will be headed by the PLD authorities, including president Danilo Medina.
