Haitians begin new excavation in the Masacre River

Haiti.- Following the installation of electric pumps by technicians from the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources (INDHRI) to supply water to the La Vigía canal, a group of Haitians began new excavations with stones on the opposite side of the Masacre River in Juana Méndez on Thursday.

According to our correspondent César Montesinos, Dominican authorities maintain that the electric pumps will ensure irrigation water for crops in Dajabón.

The Haitians dug and expanded an area by moving earth to allow their canal to receive a greater volume of water.

Although Dominican soldiers on the border were unable to prevent the actions of Haitian civilians, as they operated within their territory.
