22 million! Raquel and Camacho inaugurate works in the Cibao region

Vice President Raquel Peña cuts the ribbon.

Cibao—The Vice President emphasized the importance of both small and large works for community development. She said that the important thing is not the cost or the dimension, but the impact they have on the sports and cultural development of the districts where they are built, and Francisco Camacho has worked with this approach.

The emblematic Sameji club of Santiago regained its splendor after a total renovation that cost more than 18 million pesos.

In a ceremony headed by the Vice President of the Republic, Raquel Peña, accompanied by the Minister of Sports, Francisco Camacho, the work was handed over to the club’s directors.

Later, Raquel Peña and Francisco Camacho went to the municipal district of Juan López, Espaillat province, to hand over the Dolores Luna (Mamá Loga) club, which had been completely rebuilt with an investment of more than 4 million pesos.

“I would like to congratulate Minister Francisco Camacho for his interest in the small works, as well as in the big ones. The most important thing is not the cost or the size, but the impact these facilities can have on the sporting and cultural development of the communities,” said vice-president Raquel Peña.

Miguel Balaguer, president of the Sameji club, expressed his gratitude for the repairs and assured that the work had been left in equal or better conditions than when it was built.

“Since its construction, the Sameji club had never been rebuilt and in that sense we want to thank President Luis Abinader, Vice President Raquel Peña and Minister Francisco Camacho, who listened to our claims”, he said.

The governor of Santiago, Rosa Santos, also highlighted the importance of having the same club at the boundary.

“Mama Lola”

According to Soranyi Peralta, community leader and deputy mayor of Juan López, the reconstruction of the Dolores Luna club will facilitate combat sports, recreational activities, and social activities.

In both inaugurations, Raquel Peña and Francisco Camacho were accompanied by legislative authorities, governors, and mayors.

The enthusiasm was overflowing.
