Medina visits site of proposed natural-gas fired power plant

Santo Domingo.- PresidentDanilo Medina visited Montecristi (NW) where he toured the port at Manzanillo andother facilities on Tuesday, including the site of a proposed natural-gas firedpower plant.

The Presidency tweetedthat Medina spoke with officials and executives of the port and inspectednearby facilities.

It said the presidentthen toured the grounds of the State-owned Electric Utility (CDEEE) near theport and ended at the Masacre Rrver mouth.

The CDEEE site is thearea where the US based company North Energy Central has offered to build anatural gas-fired power plant of at least 300 megawatts.
