IDAC: 4.02% increase in flight operations, 98,088 flights and 12.3M passengers

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Civil Aviation Institute (IDAC) director Alejandro Herrera on Tuesday said the 4.02% increase in flight operations from January to December this year lead to almost reaching the 100,000 projection for yearend 2015.

According to Herrera, the country’s airports registered 98,088 flights in the last 12 months for a growth of 4.02%, up from 94,296 in the same period of 2014.

Herrera also revealed that there was an increase in the flow of passengers, for a total of 12,342,081, up from 11.5 million passengers registered last year.

According to statistics supplied by the Idac, the increase in flight operations is the result of the increase in the tourism offer and the policies adopted by the Dominican Government to promote tourism.
