Promese Cal clarifies it does not distribute controversial drug used by Stephen Dominguez
Santo Domingo.- Stephen Domínguez, a coordinator for People’s Pharmacies in the Valverde province, was detained in the United States for carrying phentermine, a controlled substance, without the proper prescription. The medication, which is intended for managing anxiety and weight loss, is not part of the essential medication list managed by Promese/Cal, nor is it distributed through the People’s Pharmacies, the government-run institution where Domínguez works.

The arrest occurred overnight from November 22 to 23, but Domínguez was released without further legal consequences. In response, Promese/Cal issued a statement clarifying that the drug in question is not available through its distribution channels. The organization also urged the public to rely on official sources for accurate information. Promese/Cal reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and ethical operations in all its activities.
