Death of “Mantequilla
The National Police, through a press conference, reported that the recognized criminal fugitive from justice Henry Felix, nicknamed “Mantequilla,” 22 years old, was wanted for the death of Sergeant Eddy Calcaño, which occurred in Bani, municipality of Peravia.
Diego Pesqueira, a Police spokesman, informed that “Mantequilla,” upon noticing the presence of National Police agents, immediately shot at them, who were forced to defend themselves from the shots of the alleged criminal, who suffered gunshot wounds which later caused his death.
He pointed out that “Mantequilla” was actively sought in attention to arrest warrant number 0-2910-2024 since the alleged criminal, together with Ervin Pérez, alias “El botí” killed Sergeant Major Eddy Calcaño Castillo in an incident that occurred last December 14 when this officer was assigned to the DICRIM, who tried to thwart a robbery which was committed against a lottery bank in Baní, Peravia province.
The confrontation occurred in the early hours of yesterday morning, and, according to Pesqueira, law enforcement agents were on the scene conducting the investigation.
The police said that they are continuing their efforts to capture the fugitives and bring them to justice and called on the public to collaborate with any information that could lead to their capture, guaranteeing the anonymity of the informants.
