Haitian police seize firearms, uniforms, and arrest two in raid
Haiti.- Haitian police recently conducted a series of operations that led to significant seizures and arrests. During a raid on the Coins 33 club in Delmas 33, they confiscated official uniforms from the police, military, and the Brigade for the Surveillance of Protected Areas, along with firearms, bulletproof vests, communication radios, fake cheques, and a stash of gourdes. Two individuals were arrested, although they have not been identified.
The operation targeted Abraham Dube, the club’s owner, who attempted to pose as a police officer and evade arrest but managed to flee. The Anti-Vehicle Theft Brigade also took part in the operation. During the raid, police encountered members of the “103 Zonbi” gang, led by “Komisè Dad,” resulting in a violent crossfire. While the police seized a vehicle abandoned by the gang, the armed occupants managed to escape.
According to Gazette Haïti News, these operations are part of efforts that directly impact the territory controlled by Jimmy Chérisier, known as “Barbecue,” leader of the “Viv Ansanm” coalition, in Delmas 6.
