IDEICE explores alliance with University of Chicago to strengthen public policies in the Dominican Republic

Chicago.- A delegation from the Dominican Institute for Evaluation and Research of Educational Quality (IDEICE) traveled to Chicago to meet with specialists from the Development Innovation Lab as part of efforts to establish a public policy laboratory in the Dominican Republic focused on applied research and evidence-based decision-making.

Led by Executive Director Jesús Andújar Avilés, the delegation visited the University of Chicago campus and held discussions with DIL Director Ryan Cooper, Executive Director Emely Cupito, and other researchers. The meetings focused on successful public innovation initiatives, policy evaluation methods, and opportunities for collaboration in developing a similar model in the Dominican Republic.

IDEICE officials also learned about the laboratory’s international projects, which use data analysis and rigorous evaluation to address social challenges and support more effective public policies. The institution said the visit reinforces its commitment to strengthening research, innovation, and evaluation capacities to help design policies with greater social impact.
