Dominican Republic named Special Guest Country at FIT 2026 in Buenos Aires
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic will take center stage at the 2026 edition of the International Tourism Fair of Latin America (FIT), where it has been designated as the event’s Special Guest Country. The recognition underscores the country’s growing prominence as one of the Caribbean’s leading tourism destinations and offers a valuable opportunity to strengthen its presence in key South American markets.
Scheduled to take place from September 26 to 29 at La Rural in Buenos Aires, FIT 2026 will feature an expanded International Pavilion, reflecting increasing global interest in the fair as a platform for tourism promotion, business development, and industry networking. The event brings together destinations, airlines, hotel groups, tour operators, investors, and tourism professionals from across the world.
As Special Guest Country, the Dominican Republic will showcase the breadth of its tourism offerings beyond traditional sun-and-beach vacations, highlighting segments such as luxury tourism, golf, gastronomy, wellness, meetings and incentives, adventure travel, cultural experiences, and tourism real estate. The event will also serve as a platform to attract new investments, strengthen commercial partnerships, and expand air connectivity with South American markets.
The recognition comes as the Dominican Republic continues to post record tourism figures and diversify its tourism product. Its participation at FIT 2026 is expected to reinforce the country’s international positioning and further enhance its reputation as one of the region’s most dynamic and attractive destinations.
