Aerodom denies cable theft reports at Las Américas International Airport

Santo Domingo.- Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (Aerodom) has denied reports of a recent electrical cable theft at Las Américas International Airport, stating that airport operations continue normally and without any security or operational disruptions.

The clarification came after media reports alleged that a cable theft had affected the runway lighting system at the country’s main airport. Aerodom spokesperson Luis José López rejected those claims, describing the information as inaccurate and emphasizing that no recent incidents of cable theft have occurred at the airport.

The company stressed that there is no situation affecting flight operations or airport safety and reaffirmed that all systems are functioning normally. Aerodom also highlighted its ongoing security measures, including continuous surveillance, monitoring systems, and strict protection protocols across critical airport infrastructure.

The airport operator reiterated its commitment to maintaining safe, efficient, and reliable operations for passengers and airlines, assuring the public that activities at Las Américas International Airport remain unaffected.
