Superintendency of Banks warns public about fake ‘Pro Renta’ investment platform
Santo Domingo.- The Superintendency of Banks of the Dominican Republic (SB) has warned the public about a fraudulent investment scheme circulating on social media under the name “Pro Renta,” which falsely uses the institution’s branding and image to promote alleged financial management and investment services.
In a statement, the regulator said the content imitates the official visual identity of the Superintendency and improperly uses the image of Superintendent Alejandro Fernández W., describing the campaign as false, misleading, and malicious.
The agency stressed that all official announcements and communications are published exclusively through its authorized institutional channels and official website. It urged citizens to verify information before sharing it or making financial decisions based on online investment offers.
The Superintendency also reiterated its commitment to protecting users of the financial system and preventing fraud, encouraging the public to remain vigilant against schemes that seek to exploit the credibility of government institutions for deceptive purposes.
