Abinader appoints Héctor Pastor Vásquez as Consul in Venezuela
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader has appointed Héctor Pastor Vásquez Frías as the new Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Caracas, Venezuela, through Decree 351-26, signed on June 1 and made public on June 8.
The appointment forms part of the government’s efforts to strengthen the Dominican Republic’s consular representation abroad. The decree instructs the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chamber of Accounts, the Comptroller General’s Office, the Ministry of Public Administration, and other relevant institutions to implement the measure.
Vásquez Frías, a career diplomat, historian, and journalist, has previously served in diplomatic missions in Haiti and Cuba, as well as within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His appointment comes amid ongoing efforts to restore and strengthen consular ties between the Dominican Republic and Venezuela.
