On average, about one person has died violently every day so far in June in the Dominican Republic.
Just thirteen days into the month, preliminary records and press reports count nearly a dozen homicides in different provinces, with events that have shaken the country.

The common pattern in these crimes is the use of firearms and bladed weapons, reflecting the ease of access to these instruments and the lack of control over their circulation.
