David Collado launches “Dive Into Happiness” campaign to strengthen the promotion of Cabarete

The Minister of Tourism, David Collado, launched the new international campaign “Dive Into Happiness” from Miami, an initiative aimed at further strengthening Cabarete’s positioning as one of the most important destinations in the Caribbean for surfing and wind sports.

Collado recalled that a few years ago, a strategy was presented that identified Cabarete as the “Surf & Wind City” of the Caribbean, with the purpose of placing this destination in Puerto Plata on the regional and international map as a benchmark for sports, adventure, and experiential tourism.

The launch featured prominent surfers from the Dominican Republic and Mexico, as part of a strategy to connect Dominican tourism with international markets and promote the country’s diverse attractions.

With this new campaign, the Ministry of Tourism continues to promote the Dominican Republic as a leading multi-destination in the Caribbean, highlighting not only its traditional beaches but also specialized destinations such as Cabarete, recognized for its natural conditions for surfing, kitesurfing, windsurfing, and other water sports.

The initiative represents a new boost for the North Coast and for the province of Puerto Plata, especially at a time when tourism authorities are committed to diversifying the national offering and strengthening destinations with their own identity.
