FL Technics receives FAA Certification for aircraft maintenance facility in Punta Cana

Punta Cana.- FL Technics has received certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to provide aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services at its new facility in Punta Cana, marking the official launch of its operations in the Dominican Republic.

The FAA granted the company a Part 145 Repair Station Certificate following a comprehensive review of its maintenance procedures, equipment, personnel qualifications, and facilities. The approval enables FL Technics to serve airlines and aircraft leasing companies operating in the region, with JetBlue becoming its first customer.

The Punta Cana facility spans 20,000 square meters and is equipped to provide base maintenance services for the Airbus A320 and Boeing 737 aircraft families. The company is developing a local workforce supported by experts from its international network, with plans to gradually transfer operational leadership to Dominican professionals.

The certification follows recent approval from the Dominican Institute of Civil Aviation and forms part of FL Technics’ long-term investment strategy in the country. The company plans to expand the site from five to 20 maintenance bays, positioning Punta Cana as a key aircraft maintenance hub for U.S. and regional airlines across the Americas.
