FCCA honors David Collado for leadership in Dominican cruise tourism
Puerto Plata.- The Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association honored Tourism Minister David Collado for his leadership and contributions to the growth of the cruise industry in the Dominican Republic during the 2026 Platinum Associate Membership Advisory Council (PAMAC) meeting held in Puerto Plata.
The recognition was presented at a gathering of senior executives from major global cruise lines and tourism industry leaders. The FCCA highlighted the Dominican Republic’s continued growth in cruise arrivals, expansion of port destinations, improvements in the visitor experience, and the economic benefits generated by the sector for local communities.
The organization also praised the country’s emergence as one of the Caribbean’s most dynamic cruise destinations, citing its strategic location, connectivity, tourism infrastructure, and long-term vision for developing a high-value multi-port cruise network.
Collado thanked the FCCA for the recognition and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to working closely with cruise operators, port authorities, the private sector, and local communities to further strengthen the industry. He emphasized the role of cruise tourism in driving economic development and creating opportunities across the country.
The PAMAC 2026 meeting brought together representatives from leading cruise companies, including Royal Caribbean Group, Carnival Corporation & plc, Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, MSC Cruises, Disney Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, and Margaritaville at Sea, reinforcing the Dominican Republic’s position as a key partner for the global cruise industry.
