Strong earthquake in Venezuela felt in the Dominican Republic

A strong earthquake that struck Venezuela on Wednesday afternoon was reportedly felt by some residents in the Dominican Republic.

According to a report issued by Google using data from various geological agencies around the world, the earthquake that struck Venezuela registered a magnitude of 7.2 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter was located off the country’s northern coast, near the capital city of Caracas, causing the tremor to be felt across several regions of Venezuela as well as in multiple cities in Colombia.

Residents in parts of the Caribbean, including the Dominican Republic, also reported feeling the earthquake.

Authorities are continuing to assess the situation, and no official reports of significant damage or casualties have been confirmed at this time.
