United will connect Houston with Santo Domingo during the winter season

United Airlines continues to strengthen its network of destinations in Latin America and the Caribbean with the announcement of a new seasonal operation between Houston, Texas, and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The company will offer the service during the 2026/27 Northern Hemisphere winter season, a period characterized by increased demand for tourist travel and passengers visiting family and friends during the end-of-year holidays.

The new route will be available between December 18, 2026, and January 3, 2027, with three weekly flights operated on Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. From Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, flights will depart in the afternoon and arrive in Santo Domingo at night.

Conversely, flights will depart from the Dominican capital in the early morning hours, allowing for early connections in Houston to numerous destinations within United’s extensive domestic and international network. The schedule was designed to offer greater flexibility to travelers during one of the busiest travel seasons of the year.

With this temporary addition, United seeks to respond to growing demand between the United States and the Caribbean, a region that continues to consolidate its position as one of the continent’s main tourist markets.

Santo Domingo is a strategic destination for both tourism and passenger traffic, including family and business trips. At the same time, Houston remains one of the airline’s most important connecting hubs, facilitating access to and from numerous cities in North America, Europe, and Asia.
