Dominican government arranges humanitarian flight from Venezuela after earthquakes

Santo Domingo.- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Mirex), following instructions from President Luis Abinader and in coordination with Venezuelan authorities, announced a humanitarian flight to repatriate Dominicans affected by the June 24 earthquakes in Venezuela.

The flight, with capacity for 90 passengers, will depart from Arturo Michelena International Airport in Valencia to Las Américas International Airport (AILA) in Santo Domingo during the early hours of June 29. Travelers must present a valid Dominican passport or national ID. Those who have lost their documents will receive assistance from a Central Electoral Board (JCE) delegation beginning June 30 to facilitate identification and allow them to return on a subsequent flight.

Mirex said a special mission is already in Venezuela to assist Dominican nationals and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting the safety and well-being of citizens abroad through coordinated repatriation and consular support.
