Indotel and Interior Ministry Partner on digital skills and community safety
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Institute of Telecommunications (Indotel) and the Ministry of the Interior and Police signed two cooperation agreements to expand digital skills training for young people and vulnerable populations and establish a Citizen Prevention and Security Center in the Moscow neighborhood of San Cristóbal.
Under the agreements, Indotel will provide a property where the Interior Ministry will operate the new center, offering community services, training, awareness campaigns, and prevention programs aimed at reducing violence and strengthening peaceful coexistence. The ministry will be responsible for renovating, equipping, maintaining, and securing the facility.
The institutions will also launch nationwide digital training programs designed to improve access to education and employment opportunities for vulnerable groups. Indotel President Guido Gómez Mazara and Interior Minister Faride Raful said the partnership will promote digital inclusion, strengthen state presence in at-risk communities, and use technology as a tool for social development and crime prevention.
