Santo Domingo.- The New York-based Dominican Bar Association (DBA) has launched Dominican Week 2026, a four-day event designed to strengthen legal, business and institutional ties between the United States and the Dominican Republic while highlighting the country’s growing role as a regional hub for investment, innovation and economic development.

The event, taking place from July 7 to 10 in Santo Domingo and Punta Cana, brings together lawyers, judges, legal scholars, business executives and public officials from both countries for a series of conferences, executive meetings and networking events.

This year’s agenda focuses on key topics shaping the global economy, including artificial intelligence, innovation, cross-border investment, economic development and the evolving role of legal professionals in international business.

For the first time, Dominican Week includes activities in Punta Cana, expanding the event beyond Santo Domingo and creating additional opportunities for strategic discussions and business networking.

Participants are scheduled to meet with representatives from government institutions, regulatory agencies, universities and the private sector, including the Chamber of Commerce, the Superintendency of Banks, Grupo Puntacana and leading academic institutions such as UNIBE, the Pontifical Catholic Mother and Teacher University (PUCMM) and Universidad del Este (UDE).

According to the Dominican Bar Association, the initiative seeks to strengthen collaboration between the legal, business and public sectors of the United States and the Dominican Republic while promoting leadership, professional development and international cooperation.

Organizers said Dominican Week has become a platform for building strategic partnerships, encouraging knowledge exchange and supporting economic opportunities that extend beyond the legal profession.

The Dominican Bar Association, headquartered in New York, is dedicated to advancing the legal profession, promoting diversity and inclusion, mentoring future legal professionals and strengthening civic and professional ties within the Dominican community in the United States and abroad.
