Dominican among six arrested in Italy over fatal train station stabbing
Rome.- Italian police have arrested six young men allegedly linked to the Latin Kings gang in connection with the fatal stabbing of Gianluca Ibarra Silvera at Milan’s Certosa train station on May 26.
Authorities said those detained include a 19-year-old Dominican national and five Peruvians between the ages of 18 and 22. They are accused of participating, to varying degrees, in the killing. The arrests, carried out in the provinces of Milan and Monza, follow the detention of two other suspects earlier in the investigation.
According to investigators, the victim, his brother, and a friend were surrounded and attacked with stones, bottles, and knives before being chased along nearby railway tracks. Police said Ibarra Silvera fell while trying to escape and was repeatedly stabbed after being caught by the attackers.
The investigation remains under the supervision of the Milan Prosecutor’s Office.
