Abinader inaugurates Porto Town Center, expected to strengthen commerce in Arroyo Hondo
Santo Domingo.- President Luis Abinader inaugurated Porto Town Center by La Marquesa, a new mixed-use commercial plaza in Arroyo Hondo that officials said reflects growing private-sector confidence in the Dominican Republic’s investment climate.
The 7,200-square-meter development features 71 commercial spaces for retail, restaurants, services, and international and local brands. The project is expected to create more than 350 direct jobs and 100 indirect jobs, boosting employment and economic activity in the area.
During the inauguration, Housing Minister Víctor “Ito” Bisonó said the project demonstrates investor confidence in the country’s economic stability, legal certainty, and business-friendly environment under the Abinader administration. Representatives of the developers and the Juan Valdez franchise also credited government support and policies that encourage private investment for helping make the project possible.
Officials said Porto Town Center will strengthen Arroyo Hondo’s commercial offering by providing residents with a modern, sustainable, and accessible destination for shopping, dining, and services.
