Canada’s PanamFest 2026 spotlights Dominican Republic as guest of honor

Toronto, Canada.- The Dominican Republic took center stage as the guest of honor at the 14th Panamerican Food and Music Festival (PanamFest), Canada’s largest multicultural celebration of the Americas, showcasing the country’s music, cuisine, arts, and tourism.

The festival, held through Sunday at Nathan Phillips Square in downtown Toronto, was officially inaugurated by Minister of Culture Roberto Ángel Salcedo, who highlighted the recognition as an opportunity to promote the Dominican Republic’s cultural heritage internationally and strengthen ties with the Dominican community in Canada.

Visitors are experiencing a vibrant showcase of Dominican culture, including merengue and bachata performances, traditional crafts, larimar jewelry, tourism exhibits, and iconic dishes such as mangú, sancocho, fried foods with salami, and traditional desserts.

The three-day event also features more than 600 artists from across the Americas, the World Food Cup with international chefs, cultural parades, and family-friendly performances celebrating the region’s diversity.

Founded in 2012, PanamFest has become one of Toronto’s premier summer festivals, recognized for promoting multiculturalism, inclusion, and cultural exchange through music, food, and the arts.
