Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic Navy welcomed the training ship Admiral Juan Bautista Cambiaso (BE-01) back to the Sans Souci Naval Station on Tuesday after completing the “Brotherhood of the Seas Summer 2026” international training cruise for midshipmen.

The homecoming ceremony was led by Defense Minister Lt. Gen. Carlos Antonio Fernández Onofre and Navy Commander Vice Adm. Juan B. Crisóstomo Martínez, with military officials, former commanders, and the midshipmen’s families in attendance.

Crisóstomo Martínez said the mission showcased the Dominican Republic’s commitment to military diplomacy and highlighted President Luis Abinader’s support for strengthening the armed forces’ international presence and officer training.

During the voyage, the training ship represented the Dominican Republic in New York and Boston, participating in events marking the 250th anniversary of U.S. independence and the international Sail 250 celebration, helping promote the country abroad while strengthening naval cooperation and diplomatic ties.
