Santo Domingo.- Dominican Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez received the copies of the credentials of Ernesto Alfonso Pumpo Aguilar, Honduras’ ambassador-designate to the Dominican Republic, during a ceremony held Wednesday at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Pumpo Aguilar, who previously served as Honduras’ ambassador to Italy, met with Álvarez to discuss the bilateral agenda and reaffirm both countries’ commitment to strengthening their longstanding ties of friendship, cooperation, and mutual understanding.
The meeting was attended by Vice Minister of Bilateral Foreign Policy Francisco Caraballo and Ambassador José Tomás Ares, director of Relations with Latin America and the Caribbean.
Pumpo Aguilar will officially assume his post after presenting his Letters of Credence to President Luis Abinader, the formal step required to become Honduras’ ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to the Dominican Republic.
