“Ezequiel” surrenders, implicated in the death of “El Rubito” during a fight in Santiago
The National Police reported that Alexander Torres Lora, alias “Ezequiel” and/or “El Sade”, voluntarily surrendered to the authorities this Saturday, after several days of investigative follow-up for his alleged link to the murder of Domingo Andrés Acevedo Peña, known as “El Rubito.“
According to the institution, the accused appeared at the office of the regional director of Cibao Central, General Jesús Rafael Tejada Tejada, accompanied by family members and a representative of a media outlet.
Torres Lora was wanted under arrest warrant No. 2026-AJ0065211, issued for his alleged involvement in the death of Acevedo Peña, which occurred on July 30 in the La Yagüita de Pastor sector, in Santiago.
According to preliminary investigations, the incident occurred during a fight that arose during a dice game over a dispute of RD$50, in which the victim received a knife wound that caused his death.
Police indicated that, upon checking the detainee’s records, he was found to have a criminal record.
The detainee will be placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor’s Office for the corresponding legal purposes, while the investigations into the case continue.
The institution reiterated its commitment to follow up on criminal acts and to bring to justice those wanted for committing crimes.
