Central American and Dominican business leaders revive regional economic agenda

Santo Domingo.- Business leaders from Central America, Panama, and the Dominican Republic have agreed to revive a shared regional agenda focused on strengthening economic integration, attracting investment, and monitoring trade relations with the United States.

The agreement was reached during the Ordinary Assembly of Presidents of the Federation of Private Entities of Central America, Panama, and the Dominican Republic (Fedepricap), hosted in Santo Domingo by the National Council of Private Enterprise (CONEP), which currently holds the organization’s rotating presidency.

CONEP President and Fedepricap Pro Tempore President Celso Juan Marranzini said the federation aims to regain its role as a platform for coordinated action on key regional challenges, including investment promotion, education and workforce development, artificial intelligence, technological transformation, legal certainty, institutional strengthening, and the defense of democracy and free enterprise.

The assembly also welcomed the participation of Panama’s private sector representatives and expressed solidarity with Nicaragua’s business community over restrictions affecting freedom of enterprise and the operation of business organizations.

Fedepricap brings together the leading private sector organizations of Central America, Panama, and the Dominican Republic to promote policies that support competitiveness, investment, employment, and democratic stability across the region.
