Semi-trailer truck crashes into minibus at Punta Cana toll station

La Altagracia.- A traffic accident occurred Wednesday at the toll station of the Autovía del Este, in Punta Cana, involving a semi-trailer truck and a minibus.

According to preliminary reports, the heavy vehicle allegedly lost control, dragged the minibus and crushed it, while the rear section of the truck came to rest against a concrete barrier near the toll booth area.

Authorities have not yet released the identities of the drivers involved or confirmed whether the crash caused injuries or fatalities. Emergency personnel and relevant agencies remained at the scene investigating the circumstances of the incident.

Officials are expected to provide additional details on the condition of the occupants and the findings of the investigation.
