Abinader arrives in Colombia for presidential inauguration
Colombia.- President Luis Abinader arrived Friday morning in Cali, Colombia, to attend the inauguration of President-elect Abelardo de la Espriella, who is set to assume the country’s presidency.
Abinader landed at Alfonso Bonilla Aragón International Airport, where he was welcomed by Dominican Ambassador Félix Aracena, Colombian protocol officials, and other civil and military authorities before receiving military honors.
The Dominican president traveled with Foreign Minister Roberto Álvarez in response to an official invitation, underscoring the two countries’ diplomatic ties and cooperation.
Before the inauguration ceremony at the USC Arena of Santiago de Cali University, Abinader is scheduled to hold bilateral meetings with other heads of state and senior officials. He will also attend the official reception hosted by President-elect de la Espriella and his wife, Ana Lucía Pineda.
Following the swearing-in ceremony, President Abinader and the Dominican delegation are expected to return to the Dominican Republic later Friday.
