Dominican Republic to host first Coconut Summit on August 13
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic will host DominiCoco 2026, the country’s first Coconut Summit, this Thursday, August 13, at the InterContinental Hotel in Santo Domingo, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Organized by RAAS Irrigation Systems, the event will bring together coconut producers, entrepreneurs, investors, specialists, and agricultural institutions to examine challenges and opportunities across the coconut value chain, including production, irrigation, industrialization, marketing, and innovation.
The agenda will cover topics such as official coconut production figures, irrigation strategies to increase yields, pest and disease control, coconut water processing, nutrition, consumption, and investment opportunities.
National and international experts will participate, including specialists from Brazil and representatives of Dominican agro-industrial companies. A key feature will be the panel “The Future of Dominican Coconut: Production, Industry, Investment, and Territorial Development,” which will explore strategies for expanding the sector.
Organizers said DominiCoco 2026 aims to promote knowledge exchange and new business connections while highlighting the potential of coconut as a crop with broad opportunities for agricultural production, industrial transformation, and innovation in the Dominican Republic.
