Dominican cocoa exports reach record US$669 million in 2025
Santo Domingo.- Dominican cocoa exports reached US$669 million in 2025, a 55% increase compared with the previous year, according to data from the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and MSMEs (MICM), amid higher cocoa prices on international markets.
The performance will be highlighted during the sixth Dominican Chocolate Festival, scheduled for September 11–13 in Santo Domingo. The event will bring together more than 18 Dominican brands involved in the production and marketing of cocoa and chocolate.
MICM data shows that the average export price for Dominican cocoa reached US$7,798 per ton in 2025, up 6% year over year. Price increases contributed significantly to the growth in export value.
The festival will showcase the cocoa value chain, from the raw product to its transformation into chocolate and other value-added products. Activities will include tastings, cooking demonstrations, children’s activities and presentations by local chocolatiers and brands.
The event will also recognize the Dominican Association of Chocolate Makers (ADOCHOCO) and companies in the sector. It is organized by the Dominican Environmental Consortium, International Trade Centre, Agora Mall, Mediáticos Communication Consultants and MICM, with support from industry partners.
