ITSC and ONDA partner to strengthen copyright and intellectual property education
Santo Domingo.- The Higher Technical Community Institute (ITSC) and the National Copyright Office (ONDA) signed an inter-institutional agreement to strengthen cooperation in copyright and intellectual property through training, capacity building and educational initiatives.
The agreement was signed by ITSC Rector José Ramón Holguín Brito and ONDA Director General José Rubén Gonell Cosme, who emphasized the importance of preparing students, faculty and staff to understand and protect intellectual creations.
Under the agreement, the institutions will organize conferences, workshops, seminars and awareness programs focused on copyright protection, creativity and innovation. They will also exchange knowledge, develop joint projects and coordinate initiatives promoting the responsible and legitimate use of intellectual property.
Holguín Brito said the partnership will strengthen higher technical education by connecting it with society’s needs and recognizing creativity and innovation as drivers of national development. Gonell Cosme said the initiative will help introduce new generations to copyright and encourage greater respect for intellectual property.
The signing ceremony, held at the ITSC auditorium, included the conference “Copyright, Creativity and Innovation,” presented by ONDA Academic Coordination and Planning official Wilkins Santana Abreu.
