Dominican Republic launches national tourist road signage plan
Santo Domingo.- The Dominican Republic has launched a national tourist road signage plan aimed at improving navigation, road safety and the visitor experience across the country’s main tourist destinations.
Tourism Minister David Collado launched the initiative, which seeks to standardize, modernize and optimize road signage so tourists can more easily identify routes and attractions while traveling around the country.
The first phase of the program will be implemented in La Altagracia, El Seibo, Samaná, Puerto Plata, Pedernales, María Trinidad Sánchez and Santiago.
RD-Vial Director Hostos Rizik Lugo said the new signage is intended to help visitors recognize the Dominican Republic’s road infrastructure and make travel between destinations easier and safer.
The initiative is expected to strengthen connectivity between tourist areas while providing clearer information and improving road guidance for both international visitors and local travelers.
